Holmes' Ex Comments on Cruise

If living well is the best revenge, Katie Holmes, has certainly had plenty of opportunities since her breakup with fellow actor Chris Klein ("American Pie"). Let's compare. Holmes and Klein split up after a fairly serious and lengthy involvement. Klein is then arrested for driving drunk while mega superstar Tom Cruise starts to show interest in Holmes. They start dating and a media frenzy ensues. Their love is splashed on every tabloid and magazine cover, even the Oprah Winfrey show. Then the media questions you, the ex, about how you feel. It's nearly impossible respond to that without looking bitter.

Regarding Cruise jumping on Oprah's couch expressing his elation for his new love, Klein says, "That's Tom. He can do whatever the f**k he wants. Who gives a f**k. I mean, we've all felt the need to jump up and down on a couch."

Details magazine reports that Klein and Holmes are no longer speaking with each other because they have both moved on in different directions. Klein says they broke their engagement because they took the relationship as far as it could go and the "fantasy was over and reality set in...(we weren't) lighting each other's fires anymore."

Klein told Access Hollywood, "For me, what we had was very, very special, and I hope that she's making decisions that are making her happy and that she doesn't have people in her life leading her astray from what she wants and what she believes," he stated in reference to Holmes' decision to study and practice Scientology.
