Hosea Rosenberg Is Named Top Chef
Season 5 of Bravo's hit cooking show, Top Chef, has named another winner. This year, it's chef Hosea Rosenberg, who faced tough competition from fellow chefs Stefan Richter and Carla Hall.
According to N.Y. Daily News, the final three faced off in New Orleans, where their last challenge was to create the best three-course meal they've ever cooked before. Of course, there was a twist each meal had to include a traditional New Orleans element.
The finalists were given some help in the form of runners-up from previous seasons of Top Chef. Hosea worked with Richard from season 4, Stefan paired up with season 2's Marcel, and Carla was helped by Casey from season 3.
Heading into the final competition, Stefan was the judge's favorite, cooking perfect dishes many times throughout the course of the competition. He also appeared to be the favorite for the night, with his squab and cabbage dish winning over the judges.
But it was Hosea's all-meat meal with no dessert that took the top prize.
"It felt amazing to win, but to have it come down neck and neck with Stefan just made it all that sweeter," said Hosea, a 35-year-old executive chef from Colorado, who walked away with $100,000 and the title of "Top Chef."
Carla finished last for the evening, facing a ruined souffle and misleading advice from her assistant in the kitchen.
