Houston, We Have a Problem

Marissa Candela
Grammy Award winning pop diva Whitney Houston, most known for her rendition of "I Will Always Love You" from the film "The Bodyguard," was whisked to a Parisian hospital after she became ill with gastroenteritis on a transatlantic flight on Thursday.

Houston's bodyguard was with her when she fell ill, and accompanied the 41 year-old pop star to the emergency room for treatment when the plane landed in Paris. She was not expected to be admitted into the hospital.

Houston's Los Angeles-based publicist, Nancy Seltzer, said in a statement: "Whitney Houston was rushed to a hospital in Paris because of severe vomiting. She was sick on the aircraft. She is doing well."

Gastroenteritis is an inflammatory condition of the stomach and small and large intestines, which results in nausea, vomiting and abdominal cramping.

Press on Houston and hubby Bobby Brown, who has wrangled with a host of legal difficulties, has not been all that positive as of late. But perhaps that will change when Houston enters the studio to begin work on her 7th album with Arista Record's mogul Clive Davis. This will be the first time the two have worked together in five years.
