How Not To Be A Victim On Valentine Fool’s Day

Jackie Morrison
Why do fools fall in love with love guru advice?

Okay, it's going to be an inevitable fact. Valentine's Day is less than a month away and the predators are on the prowl. What that means is that every “dating guru” and matchmaker will be trolling for business. You can't blame them because everyone has to make a buck. The key is to avoid being a victim of a questionable and expensive guru. Last night I saw on the news how people's images are being stolen from various websites by scam artists. These criminals are impersonating them on different dating websites to lure lonely hearts with cash. There is nothing you can do if your pictures have been stolen by someone who is using them to manipulate another. Fake online daters are an extreme example. A less extreme but no less harmful way that fake relationship gurus take your money is by offering an end to being single through various coaching programs or workshops.

There is no shortage of false prophets who want to profit off you. If you ever read the book Sham by journalist Steve Salerno, it is an eye opener. Salerno documents countless numbers of coaches who only coach you out of money. Since Valentine's Day is an emotional holiday for some of us, here is an example of one such program that preys on your emotions and leaves your bank account empty.

While there are countless researchers who do have knowledge of the mating ritual amongst humans, most love coaches barely have legitimate qualification to even give free advice. One such example is a former Australian psychology and law student named Renée Wade. Wade runs a coaching company called The Feminine Woman. She offers plenty of free advice via her online newsletter and YouTube videos. But the real money is in her various pay to play coaching programs. The premise of her practice is that she markets herself as being knowledgeable about dealing with men. If you want to know how to attract and hold onto a man, just ask the bad boy’s bad boy Steve Santagati. Wade does not have that much life experience. She was born in 1985. What's disturbing about Wade and others in her genre is how much she charges for advice that you could find in the library if you knew the right book to borrow.

Wade and other similar “coaches” advertise their services on the Internet as carbon copies of one another. She is an example of the typical solution to your dating problem peddled on the web. Her ‘Commitment Control’ program is $225 and the ‘Attraction Control Triggers’ coaching service is $27 per month. If you invested these same amounts into a conservative investment product you are much better off, especially if you are a man. If you are rich man, you can get any woman who knows it even if you look like a troll.

If you are struggling with love relationships than either you have internal barriers to connecting with others or you simply need to have a makeover. Watch and learn from the movie The Ugly Truth and it can solve 90 percent of the problem. For your deeper intimacy issues, whether you're male or female, if some kind of severe social anxiety plagues you from meeting people then a licensed qualified and well recommended psychologist is a better bet than a Renee Wade.

The last thing you want when you are sad on Valentine's Day is to have salt poured on the wound. If you are already feeling that something is lacking in your life emotionally then why would you want to experience scarcity in your bank account? Do your elf a favor. Don't give in to temptation when you get marketing e-mails from love coaches like Wade. These gurus know that you are vulnerable. They sincerely think they can help you but the only person who truly can help you is yourself by practicing good judgment. Start by watching The Ugly Truth, read articles from Steve Santagati who was the inspiration for Gerard Butler's character in the movie, and find yourself a qualified counselor who can help you with your particular inner resistance to pair bonding. Also, consider that having a good social network is the key to finding someone. If you are new in town or just too busy to connect with others there are certified life coaches from the International Coach Foundation (ICF) who can actually help you create a community for yourself. This is social networking 101 and I do not mean going on Facebook, Twitter, or Google to find friends.

The Feminine Woman is a great marketing gimmick. I am sure if you just listen to Renee Wade’s free talks on the Internet or glance upon her e-newsletter you can pick up some good FREE advice. Just don’t hand over money for something that is not the Holy Grail of ending your single days. If a solution was just that easy then we would all have someone by now.
