Howard Stern Defends Himself

Radio personality continues to bash Gabourey Sidibe.

After his debasing of Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe, radio show host Howard Stern is now defending his comments from Sidibe supporters, including other celebrities.

Stern has attempted to defend himself by saying that Sidibe shouldn’t be seen as a role model. Instead of overweight women loving their bodies they should instead be trying to lose weight. He also maintained that Sidibe’s health may be may risk due to her weight.

On his Sirius radio show Stern explains, “The point I was trying to make is that obesity in this country is out of control. What’s really sad is that you do see people now saying it’s OK to be this heavy, you have to love your own body, and you have to embrace it.”

Jessica Simpson has come to Sidibe’s aide saying, “I'm actually surprised somebody had the cojones to say that. I just think that's really disrespectful.” Whoopi Goldberg on The View Thursday also defended Sidibe by listing other heavy actors as well as pointing out that Sidibe already has other roles lined up.

The ironic thing about this is that Stern commented on her acting in Precious saying, “It was more about her physical appearance that actually made her great in that movie. There really wasn’t much acting involved.”
