Howard Stern Slams Gabourey Sidibe

Despite her recent Academy Award nomination for Precious, it seems that not everyone is a fan of Gabourey Sidibe. This past Monday, shock jock Howard Stern slammed Sidibe on his satellite radio show.

In response to her nomination and the critical acclaim she has been receiving for her performance, Howard Stern had this to say about Sidibe. "There's the most enormous, fat black chick I've ever seen. She is enormous. Everyone's pretending she's a part of show business and she's never going to be in another movie."

Stern did not dismiss Sidibe's powerful performance, admitting that "she should have gotten the Best Actress award," but only because "she's never going to have another shot."

Stern's long time co-host agreed with him, adding, "and Oprah's lying and saying you're going to have a brilliant career," in reference to the Oprah's speech about Sidibe at the Academy Award ceremony. In the speech, Oprah told Sidibe and the audience that the young star is "on the threshold of a brilliant new career."

Despite the glowing acclaim from Oprah, Howard Stern decidedly does not agree. "Oprah's another liar, a filthy liar," said Stern. "She's telling an enormous woman the size of a planet that she's going to have a career."

For now it seems that Stern is wrong in his predictions, as Sidibe is set to star in Showtime's The C Word, and in the upcoming feature film Yelling to the Sky.
