Hugh Jackman "Sexiest Man Alive"

Hugh Jackman, Wolverine in the three "X-Men" films, winner of the 2004 Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical, and star of the new movie, Australia, is now the winner of a different type of award: People Magazine's 2008 Sexiest Man Alive.

His wife, who calls his body the "Body of Doom," was not very surprised, Jackman revealed in an interview in People Magazine. "She said, 'I could've told them that years ago!' And then she said, 'Obviously, Brad wasn't available this year.' And I said, 'That was a joke, right?'"

Nicole Kidman, Jackman's costar in the upcoming Australia epic, was also not surprised by the news.

"Oh my God," Kidman said according to Access Hollywood. "Women's jaws drop when Hugh walks into a room. He's such an Aussie bloke: loyal and passionate. That's a great combo."

Australia, Jackman and Kidman's new film, will be released November 26.
