Hugh Jackman stars in remake of "Carousel"

Fox 2000 trying to obtain music rights to make movie

Tony Award winner Hugh Jackman is likely going to star in the remake of the 1956 film, "Carousel," according to Variety.

Variety reported Fox 2000 is working on securing the rights to the music of the Rogers and Hammerstein score. Jackman is set to produce the film.

Jackman performed the lead role, Billy Bigelow, in a 2002 concert at Carnegie Hall. Jackman can currently be seen on the big screen in Woody Allen's "Scoop."
