Hugh Jackman to Write For Virgin Comics

The "X-Men" star will team up with Virgin Comics for "Nowhere Man."

Hugh Jackman, who played Wolverine in the "X-Men" film trilogy, is trying his hand in writing for the comics. He will team up with Virgin Comics to create a comic book series called "Nowhere Man," according to Reuters.

Jackman has said that he hopes "Nowhere Man" will gain enough of an audience to eventually become a movie. Seeing as comic book movies are Hollywood's new go-to movies when all else fails, this is not that ambitious of a goal.

"Nowhere Man" is set in the future, where men have traded their privacy for safety and security. From its description it seems to be a reaction to the real-life Patriot Act, which granted the government access to people's once-private records, emails, phone lines, etc. in the name of protecting the American people from terrorism. Because of the public outrage at such an atrocious infringement of human rights, it is likely that "Nowhere Man" will be a dark look at our species' future, much like "Faranheit 451."

Jackman will be working with Mark Guggenheim, the writer of Marvel's "Wolverine" and "Amazing Spider-Man" comics.
