During the semiannual Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena American Idol judge Simon Cowell announced that this is his last season with the popular FOX talent show.

In reply to the news Ryan Seacrest tweeted, “This is Simon’s last season on idol. He’s working on US version of x-factor! He is one of the most brilliant people in our biz! Congrats.”
Rumors are now circling around the judges table of “The X Factor.”
TMZ reports that former American Idol judge Paula Abdul has had discussions with Cowell about being a judge on his new show.
