Imagine That Ð Even Paramount Executives Are Out of Work
Hot on the heels of Eddie Murphy's box-office nightmare, "Imagine That," Paramount Pictures have fired Film Group President John Lesher and Production President Brad Weston. Paramount has announced Lesher's replacement as Adam Goodman, who was formerly the production chief of Dreamworks.
Brad Grey, chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures, has expressed extreme confidence in Lesher's replacement in a statement to Hollywood Reporter, noting, "We have worked closely with Adam over the last few years and we look forward to expanding his duties." Weston's replacement is, as of yet, unnamed.
The reason for the cuts remains unclear. Paramount, which has faced some struggle in the last few years, has been doing well this year with "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" and "Star Trek," and is expecting to see high gains with next week's "Transformers 2."
