'Incredibles' Capsizes 'Nemo' at Box Office
Best weekend for Disney and Pixar ever...
Pixar Animation's new film The Incredibles has capped weekend box office charts with $70.7 million in North American ticket sales. Incredibly, these enormous sales beat out Pixar and partner Disney's former record for its 2003 release, Finding Nemo.
The Incredibles is a digitally-animated comedy about a family of superheroes who come out of retirement to save the world.
According to Reuters, the animated film was expected to win the coveted No. 1 position, with Wall Street predicting a debut in the $60 million dollar range. However, Disney officials reported that astounding ticket sales surpassed most expectations, as adults and children came out in droves for the well-reviewed film.
