Indana Jones Doing Well at the Box Office

Indiana Jones in line to be the second best opening ever on the Memorial Day weekend.

Indiana Jones's performance at the box office these past two days has put it on track to possibly put it at number two for the biggest Memorial Day opener. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull grossed an estimated $101 million from Friday to Saturday, reported the Associated Press. They expect another $25 million on Monday, as well.

At this rate, it would put Jones behind last year's opening of the final Pirates installment, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, which grossed $139.8 million for the Memorial Day weekend.

The film didn't receive very much reaction from its performance, but from the money it's taking in we can see that fans are seeing things differently. "This is the definition of a summer movie from two of the architects of the summer movie season - George Lucas and Steven Spielberg," said Paul Dergarabedian, President of tracking firm Media By Numbers, to AP.

Behind Indiana Jones were The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, making $23 million, followed by Iron Man, still in the top, making $20.1 million, What Happens in Vegas at $9 million and Made of Honor with $3.4 million.
