Instead of a Runway, NADA Goes 3D
After the major successes of James Cameron’s Avatar and Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, it seems that everyone is trying to jump on the 3D bandwagon. Practically every major blockbuster set to be released this year has plans to be released in 3D. There are already talks of 3D television and online videos. Therefore, it shouldn’t be too surprising that the fashion industry has also caught the 3D bug.
According to The National Post, Nada Shepherd presented the fall collection of her fashion line NADA in a 3D film this past Wednesday in Toronto. The article states that this new viewing plays a significant role in the designer’s all new marketing campaign, which also includes a lookbook and various ads.
Shepherd’s new collection is centered on the theme of female robot warriors. Throughout the 3D presentation, model Madison Schill sports NADA’s newest clothes while showing off such weapons as a katana and a lead pipe.
Although her line was presented after the success of Avatar, Shepherd began planning her new 3D short film prior to its release. Additionally, it was also planned before Burberry made the decision to capture one of its recent fashion shows in 3D.
NADA’s 3D video can be seen on the NADA website.
