At 12 years old, Maxim Knight has already made a name for himself. The young star plays Matt Mason on TNT's new hit sci-fi drama Falling Skies. TheCelebrityCafe.com's Shakala Alvaranga spoke with Knight about his new show, and if he thinks Season 2 of Falling Skies will match up with Season 1.
TheCelebrityCafe.com: You are currently in the hit TV series Falling Skies. How has that experience been?
Maxim Knight: It's been really fun shooting Falling Skies! Before, I did a lot of guests spots so I was waiting for something kind of big to happen. And then I gotFalling Skies. It's great because I've never been a series regular so you get to know the cast, and the scripts are very exciting because of all the CGI involved.
TheCelebrityCafe.com:Tell me about your character onFalling Skies, Matt?
Maxim Knight: In the first season, he was kind of like a little boy. Now, he's growing up a little bit. I won't give away too much, but I think his character becomes more of himself, he kind of does what he wants.
TheCelebrityCafe.com: In the show you play Noah Wyle’s son, how is it working with him?
Maxim Knight: Noah Wyle's is a cool guy, and a very good actor. He does a really good job. He's actually a producer in the second season! He really helps us. He's definitely a role model for everyone on set. Connor Jessup (Ben Mason on Falling Skies) and him share thoughts about acting skills and all that stuff.
TheCelebrityCafe.com: Which episode of Falling Skies is your favorite?
Maxim Knight: The episode that I had the most fun was the one where I got to ride the Ripstik. That was actually the first episode. It was so fun to ride the Ripstik and Steven Spielberg came that day.
TheCelebrityCafe.com:You are currently in Vancouver shooting season 2. Do you think this season is going to be better than last season?
Maxim Knight: I think that it's definitely going to be more exciting, and a lot more action. In the first season, it was very much about humanity, but it has other elements to it. A lot of sci-fi fans are going to be pleased this season.
TheCelebrityCafe.com:Do you believe in aliens?
Maxim Knight: I think that there's probably a possibility. They are probably so far away. There have been weird radio signals that we've gotten!
TheCelebrityCafe.com:What other projects are you working on?
Maxim Knight: I'm not working on anything at the moment because I'm focusing on Falling Skies, but I worked a lot in between the 1st and 2nd season. I did Wilfred, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and CSI: Miami.
