Iranian President Receives Platform at Columbia University
On Monday afternoon, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad plans to discuss "alternative views" to a United States audience comprised of some 600 students and faculty at Columbia University in Upper Manhattan. The Columbia University President Lee Bolinger will give Ahmadinejad a platform, despite protestors outside both Columbia University and the United Nation's Headquarters. On an interview with 60 minutes, the Iranian President claimed that Americans have been deprived access of accurate information regarding global developments. He is hoping to present some of his own views to tomorrow's audience. Senator Hillary Clinton told CNN's Wolf Blitzer, "He's a Holocaust denier. He's a supporter of terrorism. But I also respect the right in our country to make different decisions." President Bolinger is expected to introduce him to the students and staff.
