It's 4 ? years in Prison for Raffaello Follieri.
Anne Hathaway's ex love Raffaello Follieri was sentenced Thursday to 4 ? years in prison after pleading guilty to 14 counts of wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy reports people.com.
Along with time in the slammer, the Manhattan Federal court also ordered Follieri to pay a $1,400 special assessment to the US government and that he be placed on three years of supervision upon his release.
The deal was reached after Follieri reportedly agreed to not appeal any sentence less than 63 months in the slammer.
Follieri's attorney, Flora Edwards has made the request that he do his time at Fort Dix, N.J. or Otisville, N.Y.
What does he have to say for himself?
Follieri, who was born in Italy, made a statement through an interpreter saying that he had started out with only the best of intentions and that he wants no one to think badly of his family.
"The most important thing I want the court to know is I was not raised with bad values. ... I started off with good intentions, determined to run an honorable business and make everyone proud of me."
He continued, "What I did was wrong and there is no point in making excuses. ... I will never be able to wash away the shame. ... I just hope that someday those who have been hurt by my actions will forgive me."
This sentencing came after Follieri's Jun arrest with accusations that he lied to investors and that he used misbegotten funds to pay for everything from a $37,000-a-month apartment and a trip to the Dominican Republic with Hathaway to medial bills for the couple and orthodontist bills for his father.
Reportedly, the bureau of prisons now gets to decide how much security to place him under before his next court date on Dec. 12.
