iTunes Offers Band Aid 20 Single in UK
For a cost of 79 pounds, owners of iPods in the United Kingdom can download the Band Aid 20 single. The popular single that features Dido, Sir Paul McCartney and Robbie Williams was released on Monday and sold over 122,000 copies within two days.
According to the BBC, Apple previously disagreed with raising the download cost, making it higher than its other download services. Fortunately, the agreement Band Aid and Apple compromised on donates .70 pounds of the .79 pounds to charity. Fans of the single can also download the original 1984 song for .79 pounds. Unfortunately, this is only available in the UK.
The single benefiting famine relief is predicted to hit the 1 million sales mark. Once it reaches this goal, two million pounds will go to charity.
