J. K. Rowling Facing Plagiarism Charges

Claims state that Rowling borrowed from another author's work.

The newest accusation of plagiarism by J. K. Rowling comes from the estate of the late author, Adrian Jacobs. Jacobs wrote The Adventures of Willy the Wizard, and there are claims that several concepts from Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire bear a striking resemblance to the plot of this book.

Rowling denies having used this story as a source and states that she’s never even read it. However, this could possibly result in a multi-million dollar lawsuit.

Personally, I don’t see this case getting too far off the ground. Rowling has been hit with several accusations before for plagiarism, but none of them resulted in actual decisions that she had lifted from other authors’ works.

Arguably, one of the most successful authors ever, Rowling doesn’t cite any other author’s works as direct inspirations for the Harry Potter series.
