Jackson Attorneys Sue Heal the World Foundation

Jackson estate files lawsuit against Heal the World Foundation

Michael Jackson

On Tuesday Michael Jackson's estate sued the Heal the World Foundation.

The lawsuit claims the foundation is improperly using Web sites and trademarks to create the impression that Jackson gave his approval in order to solicit donations.

The estate also claims the Heal the World Foundation had no relationship with Jackson or his family.

The current foundation was founded in 2008 and trademarked its name. In August, the foundation filed a notice stating their intent to use Jackson's name and sell merchandise.

Corporation United Fleet which is affiliated with Heal the World Foundation is also accused of falsely claiming ties with the "King of Pop".

Attorney John Branca and music executive John McClain are the current administrators of Jackson's estate.

Branca and McClain have the authority to protect the likeness, image and prevent sales of unauthorized merchandise of Jackson.

Michael Jackson created a Heal the World Foundation in 1992 but a decade later it became inactive.
