The Jackson Family Plans a Private Service
As fans await details of Michael Jackson's memorial, the Jackson family is working on a private ceremony for their lost loved one, reports the Associated Press.
Talks of the service being held at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood Hills were confirmed Sunday by CNN.
Forest Lawn officials are working with the family on planning the private service. Plans are said to be a part of "a package" of events Tuesday, said Jim McDonnell, assistant chief of staff of the Los Angeles Police Department.
McDonnell announced that his department is also working with Jackson's family on the "private family function" at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
The Los Angeles police department plans to shut down streets surrounding the Staples Center on Tuesday in an attempt to control the large capacity of visitors without tickets expected to show up at the event.
An official with AEG Live, the concert promoter in charge of the memorial, told CNN there would be no funeral processional.
No date for the private family service has been announced.
