Jackson Gets Much Needed Support from Geraldo Rivera

Michael Jackson's got Geraldo Rivera on his side.

In an interview taped two weeks ago for Fox News Channel's "At Large with Geraldo Rivera," Jackson spoke with Rivera about the graphic news reports circulating his upcoming trial. He is accused of plying a young boy with alcohol and then molesting him at his Neverland Ranch. There are also charges of conspiracy in holding his accuser's family captive. He likened the press coverage of his life and upcoming trial to a "science fiction movie," stating that it was all simply untrue.

Because of a gag order during his trial in Santa Barbara County, he could not directly proclaim his innocence. Rather, he spoke with Rivera about how his larger-than-life celebrity makes him a big "target" for false accusations. He also remained optimistic by saying that the "truth always prevails."

Rivera says he is dedicated to getting jurors and the public to listen to the specific allegations against Jackson, calling them "illogical." He also described District Attorney Tom Sneddon as "ruthless" and a "man on a mission" to convict Jackson. In an interview with Access Hollywood, Rivera went so far as to say he'd shave off his mustache if Jackson is found guilty.

In his chat with Rivera, Jackson also describes Neverland as a place where he could share "simple, innocent fun" with his children and inner-city kids. Rivera noted afterward that Jackson realizes he can no longer put himself in vulnerable positions with children.

Jackson also touches upon sister Janet's wardrobe debacle at the 2004 Super Bowl and Eminem's pedophilic portrayal of him in the "Just Lose It" video.

The interview will air this Saturday, February 5th on the Fox network.
