Jackson Merchandise and Memorabilia

Michael Jackson Fans hold onto cancelled tickets and anxiously await clothing line.

In the aftermath of Michael Jackson's death, Jackson merchandise has quickly turned to memorabilia for heartbroken fans of the pop icon.

Jackson had planned to launch a clothing and merchandise line to coincide with his London concert series. He had aspired to push beyond the typical concert souvenirs, and created a 300 piece line. Some highlights include a jacket similar to the one worn in "Thriller" and a "Who's Bad" belt buckle.

ABC news reports that select Target, Hot Topic, Spencer's Gifts, and JC Penney were all expected to carry the line. With Jackson's unexpected death, stores are hoping to compete with bootleggers of Michael Jackson products.

Target has reported that they still plan to sell the Jackson T-Shirts later this month. Sales are expected to do even better than previously anticipated.

AEG Live, Jackson's concert promoter, reported to The Associated Press that "40 percent to 50 of ticket buyers for the cancelled 02 Arena concerts have decided to forgo refunds and are keeping their unused tickets as memorabilia instead."
