Thus begins the mass transfer of Jackson's personal items.

Bonhams and Goodman, an auction house in Melbourne, Australia, sold one of Michael Jackson's famous crystal encrusted white gloves today. It sold for $48,400 to Warwick Stone, a buyer for Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The glove had fallen into the possession of Bill Hibble in 1996 when Jackson threw the glove into a crowd and he caught it. Jackson was in Australia as part of the world tour promoting his album, "HIStory."

According to TMZ, the glove was worn on the day of Jackson's wedding to Debbie Rowe.

It is expected that a number of other gloves and Jackson memorabilia will be sold in auction houses after the singer's death in June.
