Jackson's Jury Selection Delayed a Second Week

Jury selection is postponed for one week after Michael Jackson is rushed to the hospital with the flu.

Jury selection in the Michael Jackson trial has been delayed for a second week after the pop star was taken to the emergency room with the flu.

The physician who treated Jackson at Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria, California, said his flu-like symptoms included vomiting and that he was receiving fluids intravenously. Jackson is expected to make a full recovery.

Superior Court Judge Rodney Melville, who is overseeing the child molestation trial, announced to a packed courtroom that Jackson was very ill and would require a few days to recover. He also noted that several prospective jurors had become ill with the flu. Jury selection will resume on February 22. Court proceedings were delayed last week when the sister of Jackson's attorney, Thomas Mesereau, Jr., passed away.
