Jagger Refuses the President
The Rolling Stones front man Sir Mick Jagger has reportedly refused to give up his Austrian hotel room after officials for President George W. Bush trying booking the room as well. Just a few days before Bush's officials tried booking the room for a summit meeting, Jagger booked the $6, 300 a night room at the luxury Imperial Hotel in Vienna. Jagger, who is outspoken about the war in Iraq, could not be persuaded in giving the room to the US president. British newspaper The Sun has a source admitting, "White House officials had wanted to reserve the suite and all the other rooms on the first floor. But Mick and the Stones had already booked every one of them. Bush's people seemed to be under the impression that they would just hand over the suites but there was no way Mick was going to do that." The suite in question was ranked in the 100 best hotel rooms in the world.
