James Frain of 'True Blood' Celebrates a Birthday Today

True Blood actor James Frain celebrates his birthday today. Born James Dominic Frain in Leeds, UK, he grew up with his seven siblings in Hertfordshire where he attended the Newport Free Grammar School, the place where he studied English. He later went on study both Film and Drama at the University of East Anglia before taking his acting training even further when he attended London's Central School of Speech and Drama.

His acting debut came in the form of Shadowlands, while he was in his last year of speech and drama school. The film was so successful that James was given other roles where he displayed a variety of accents. It came as no surprise when he was nominated by the Venice Film Festival for Best Actor for his role in Nothing Personal. He also won the Best Supporting Actor for starring in Sunshine in Toronto, Canada.

James also had quite a few stage performances under his belt as he did extensive stage work with two theater companies there. In the US, James has starred in television shows including Invasion, The Tudors and Dark Relic to name a few.
