James Gandolfini Undergoes Surgery
Gandolfini underwent minor keyhole surgery after experiencing abdominal pains.
Sopranos star James Gandolfini was hospitalized after experiencing stomach pains which required minor surgery.
Gandolfini was taken to New York's St. Luke's Roosevelt hospital Tuesday, where he underwent keyhole surgery on his abdomen.
He is currently recovering from the operation at his home.
The 46-year-old actor's representative downplayed the significance of the operation, saying, "It was a minor procedure and he is already home."
Keyhole surgery is a technique where small incisions are made, before a telescopic rod lens system is inserted into the body.
Gandolfini's surgery comes in the midst of rumors that a Sopranos movie is in the works.
