James Marsden to Star in Live-Action/CG-Animated Comedy
According to an article on HollywoodReporter.com, “Tim Hill, who directed the hybrid ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks,’ is pushing his resume into hipper territory with this tale of an out-of-work slacker (Marsden) who accidentally injures the Easter Bunny (voiced by Brand) and must take him in as he recovers. As Fred struggles with the world's worst houseguest, both will learn what it takes to finally grow up.’”
The film is from Illumination Entertainment and Universal. Cinco Paul, Ken Daurio and Brian Lynch are all penning the screenplay while Illumination’s Christopher Meledandri and John Cohen will be the motion picture’s producers.
The HollywoodReporter.com article then delves into Marsden’s other projects, “Marsden, who last appeared in Richard Kelly's ‘The Box,’ has two movies in the can. He appears in Neil LaBute's remake of the British ensemble comedy ‘Death at a Funeral,’ which opens in April, and then stars in ‘Straw Dogs,’ Rod Lurie's remake of the 1971 Sam Peckinpah thriller.’”
Marsden’s past credits include the 2004 romantic drama “The Notebook,” the 2007 remake of the 1988 John Waters-directed musical comedy “Hairspray” and the 2008 romantic comedy “27 Dresses.”
As for Brand, his past credits include the 2008 romantic dramedy “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and the 2008 family comedy “Bedtime Stories.”
