James Spears Gets Paid to Be a Father
Quick.
What seems like the best job in the world, but it actually could turn out to be the worst?
Getting paid to be Britney Spears's father.
A court has ordered Britney Spears's estate to pay James Spears $2,500 a week in weekly compensation and has authorized him to lease a car. On Wednesday, his authority to handle his daughter's affairs, which was slated to expire on March 10, was extended until July 31.
James Spears, who recently worked as a caterer, was named conservator of his daughter and co-conservator of her estate after Britney was hospitalized twice in January of this year.
In the past year, Britney was caught on camera doing increasingly out of the ordinary behavior. She beat a vehicle with an umbrella, shaved her head and wore skirts without underwear, among other things.
These actions contributed to the 26-year-old pop star losing both of her young sons to ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Spears's parents came to Los Angeles to be with their daughter around the time of her second hospitalization. She has mostly stayed out of the eye of the media since being released from the hospital on Feb. 6.
