In a move that seems to recreate an episode of Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, who played George Costanza on the show, debuted a full head of hair on Monday when he attended the 27th Annual C.S.A. Artios Awards in Beverly Hills.
According to Us Magazine, the look came as a shock to attendees of the awards show, because just three months ago at the ICON Awards, he showed off his famously bald head.
Fans of Alexander, though, might have got the hint he tweeted out on July 21. He wrote, “I am experimenting with some interesting hair systems. Don't be shocked if you suddenly see pics of me with more hair than usual.”
Today, he defended his decision by issuing an even longer tweet, saying that when he began balding at the age of 17, he embraced it, since it made him look older. “But most recently, the look lost any kind of impression other than purely comical. I'm happy to be able to sport that kind of look for characters but I didn't want it to be the only kind of characters I could be considered for,” he wrote.
The Huffington Post notes that he has not revealed who made the very accurate hair piece, but says that it is not a big deal for him and “...hope it's not for you either,” he added.
