Jay Leno Not Offended by Conan O’Brien’s Jokes
Jay Leno has said that he views the comments Conan O’Brien has made during the late-night war as jokes, and something that is just apart of the comedy business.
In an interview with Oprah that will be aired on Thursday he said that he had not talked to O’Brien since the public dispute because he said that it was not appropriate to do.
“I don’t know, I think, let things cool down, and maybe we’ll talk,” Leno told Oprah.
Leno will replace O’Brien as the host of The Tonight Show in March, after O’Brien signed a $32.5 million exit deal.
“No, they were jokes, and that’s OK,” Leno said when Oprah asked if the comments O’Brien made towards Leno and NBC were hurtful or humorous.
O’Brien only hosted The Tonight Show for a short eight months, and prior to him taking over, Leno hosted it for 17 years.
Despite the drama between O’Brien and NBC, the network picked up an hour-long drama pilot from his production company, Conaco.
