"The Jay Leno Show" might be moving
Jay Leno has been a staple of talk shows since he took over the The Tonight Show hosting duties for Johnny Carson. According to The Washington Post, reports of a possible cancellation of his current show, The Jay Leno Show, have been pouring over the Web recently. Thursday night saw NBC executives discussing the future of its late night lineup with Leno and Conan O'Brien.
In a statement released today, NBC announced that "Jay Leno is one of the most compelling entertainers in the world today. As we have said all along, Jay's show has performed exactly as we anticipated on the network. It has, however, presented some issues for our affiliates. Both Jay and the show are committed to working closely with them to find ways to improve the performance."
NBC executives said they would be keeping Conan as well, but, like Leno, would not say in what capacity.
