Jay Leno Talks About Late Night Drama on Oprah
Jay Leno sat down and talked to Oprah today on The Oprah Winfrey Show and they talked about everything that has happened the past few weeks regarding the late night drama on NBC.
One thing that Oprah brought up was when Jimmy Kimmel appeared on The Jay Leno Show for the “Ten @ Ten” segment. He ridiculed Leno, NBC, and the entire late-night situation, and when asked about how he felt about Kimmel’s comments, Leno said he felt “sucker-punched.”
Leno has been blamed for all of the drama that has been going on at NBC, and when he takes over to be the host of The Tonight Show in March, NBC is going to have to do “a lot of damage control.”
“I’m going to work hard to rehabilitate the bad guy image,” Leno said.
As for the future of late-night television, Leno said, “I hope Conan gets a job somewhere else and we all compete together. And the best man wins.”
The Jay Leno Show’s last episode will be Feb. 9, and he will take over being the host of The Tonight Show on Mar. 1.
