Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige Accused of Stealing
Two of music's biggest names have just been sued.
Rapper Jay-Z and singer Mary J. Blige have been named in a song-stealing suit presented by two New Jersey men, E! reports.
Jermaine Jumpp and Michael C. Adams are blaming Blige's frequent producer, Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, of stealing the beat from their song, "On My Grind," and using it on Blige's "Enough Cryin'."
Jumpp and Adams claim that they sent Jerkins a CD with the song on it in 2001. When "Enough Cryin'" was released from Blige's 2005 album, The Breakthrough, they were appalled. Jay-Z received a co-writing credit while they got nothing.
Blige and Jay-Z have not commented yet. Last spring, the two powerhouses joined forces on their "Heart of the City Tour" and often collaborate on music.
There is no information as to why the lawsuit is being filed three years later.
