Actor Jeff Goldblum and Broadway performer Brian Stokes Mitchell have been cast as Rachel Berry’s gay dads on Fox’s Glee.

TV Line first reported the casting news Tuesday, adding that the two will both appear in the Valentine’s Day episode on Feb. 14. The episode is actually titled “Heart” and both Goldblum and Mitchell will sing in the show.

The casting is a bit of a surprise move because, as The Clicker on Today notes, a picture of Lea Michele’s character’s parents showed the two obviously played by different actors.

Cinemablend reports that Goldblum is best known for his appearances in films like The Fly and the first two Jurassic Park films. Goldblum was most recently seen on television in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. As TVLine notes, though, he does have Broadway experience, having made his Broadway debut in 1971’s Two Gentlemen In Verona.

Mitchell’s credits include appearances in countless major Broadway productions, including Jelly’s Last Jam, Ragtime and Man of La Macha. He also won a Tony Award in 2003 for Best Actor for his role in the revival of Kiss Me Kate. He has made television appearances in the past, having a recurring role on Fraiser and a role on Ugly Betty.

Glee finally returned from its mid-season break Tuesday night. It has also been reported that The Glee Project has been renewed for a second season, but Glee itself has yet to be renewed for a fourth season.
