Jeffrey Tambor says 'Arrested Development' movie is a go

Arrested Development is giving its fans a chance at some closure after its cancellation in 2006. The cast and creators are on board to create an Arrested Development movie, which is currently being written.

Jeffrey Tambor, who played patriarch George Bluth, Sr. in the FOX comedy, told The Huffington Post that the movie is on track and the entire cast is on board. The Bluth Family includes Jessica Walters, Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Portia de Rossi, Michael Cera, Alia Shawkat, David Cross, and Tony Hale.

While rumors of a movie have been swirling for about a year, the cast and crew are hopeful.

“I think it was official a few days ago that Mitch Hurwitz was almost done with the script and he wants to shoot it this year, so I can’t wait,” Bateman, who played Michael Bluth, told ITN back in January.

“I’ve been encouraging Mitch Hurwitz, who created the show and would also direct the movie, and he’s, you know, very serious about it,” Ron Howard, an executive producer and narrator for the show, said several months ago.

“But he’s also been involved in some TV shows that he was passionate about those have run their course and I think he’s available now. But I’m like a lot of fans now; I’ll sort of believe it when I see it. But I’m in there prodding as much as I possibly can.”
