Jennie Garth Gets Candid About Heart Ailment
Although she appears to be in pristine health, "90210's" Jennie Garth reveals that she has been suffering from a leaky heart valve for over seven years.
"It's your connection to your heart . . . your artery, the main artery that goes to your heart," Garth, 37, told "Access Hollywood." "It sort of flutters open and shut sort of a thing. . . . It's weird because sometimes when I'm resting I can feel a little weird fluttering," Garth said.
"I've been affected by heart disease practically my whole life," she said. "My father has struggled with heart disease since he was 50 and I lost him a year ago."
At this point, the heart condition is not a major health concern, but Garth is conscious of the effects it may have on her future.
"Down the road it's something that could get more complicated or it could not," she said. "People have had valve replacements and that kind of thing . . . but I'm prepared, that's the key," Garth said.
