Jennifer Esposito to Guest Star in Several Episodes of CBS’ ‘Blue Bloods’

The ‘Crash’ actress will appear as a member of the New York Police Department

CBS’ upcoming drama series, Blue Bloods, features an ensemble cast that includes Tom Selleck, Bridget Moynahan, Donnie Wahlberg, and Andrea Roth. The network announced Thursday that experienced television actress Jennifer Esposito, who is best known for her roles on Spin City, Rescue Me, and Samantha Who?, will guest star in several episodes of Blue Bloods.

Season one of the upcoming drama series, which was created by spouses and Sopranos co-writers Mitchell Burgess and Robin Green, is scheduled to premiere September 24 at 10 p.m. Esposito’s character, Wahlberg’s partner in the New York Police Department, is expected to debut in mid-October, The Berkshire Eagle reports.

According to CBS’ official website, Blue Bloods “is a drama about a multi-generational family of cops dedicated to New York City law enforcement. Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) is the New York City Police Commissioner and heads both the police force and the Reagan brood.”

“He runs the department as diplomatically as he runs his family, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his unapologetically bold father during his stint as Chief.”

To go along with her impressive television credits, Esposito, 37, portrayed the role of Ria in 2004’s Academy Award-winning drama film, Crash.

The actress is also known as the ex-wife of Wedding Crashers and Hangover actor Bradley Cooper. Their marriage lasted for less than one year after they tied the knot in December 2006, but she is currently engaged to Australian tennis star Mark Philippoussis.
