Jennifer Hudson to Appear on "American Idol"

Jennifer Hudson is slated to make a guest appearance on "American Idol," Wednesday.

According to MTV News, actress/singer Jennifer Hudson will be returning to FOX's American Idol in a forthcoming episode.

Hudson is slated to tape a performance in front of a live audience on Wednesday after the conclusion of the live show. This comes according to an Associated Press source that couldn't give their name because ". . . the person was not authorized to speak to reporters."

It would be sensible that Hudson performs a track from her self-titled debut CD. The album won a Grammy for Best R&B Album. Hudson will be embarking on a nationwide tour with Robin Thicke on Mar. 31.

Hudson said, "I am so grateful. My first Grammy and my first tour, it doesn't get any better than this!"

Clive Davis said to MTV News, "She's coped internally. She's coped with her family, I'm sure she's coped within her religion. I was there at the funeral. I think that she has . . . to dig down deep, because this has been an indescribable tragedy."

The tragedy of which Davis speaks refers to the murders of her mother, brother and nephew last fall.
