Jennifer Hudson to Perform at Super Bowl

Jennifer Hudson will be the star in charge to sing the National Anthem at this year's Super Bowl. It will mark the singer's first performance after the tragic and widely publicized murder of her family.

According to the Associated Press, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed the news that E! News first reported on Tuesday. The Super Bowl, one of the most viewed events on television, will take place on February 1 in Tampa, Florida, and will also feature Bruce Springsteen, who will sing during halftime.

Hudson is also scheduled to perform a couple of days later at the Grammy Awards on February 8, as she is nominated for four awards. The Dreamgirls star, who released an album before the killings, is still mourning the deaths her mother, Darnell Hudson Donerson; brother, Jason Hudson; and nephew, Julian King, who were killed in October in Chicago. Hudson's brother-in-law has been charged with the murders, the Associated Press reported.
