Jennifer Hudson’s figure is so fabulous that it’s difficult to remember what she looked like back when was a mere contestant on American Idol, and it seems she doesn’t want to go back either.

The Huffington Post reported the Oscar winning actress and singer turned down the starring role in Precious because she was asked to put on a pound or two to get into character.

"I had [gained weight] with Effie [in Dreamgirls]," she writes in her memoir, I Got This: How I Changed My Ways and Lost What Weighed Me Down.

"And as much as I was moved by this film, I wanted to try a role that had nothing whatsoever to do with my weight."

According to Us Weekly, the 30-year-old won a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for her role in Dreamgirls and instead of co-starring with Mo’nique and Mariah Carey, she chose to star next to Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall in the first Sex and the City film.

Since hitting the American Idol stage on the show’s third season, Hudson has lost a whopping 80 pounds with a little help from Weight Watchers and even opened Chicago’s Jennifer Hudson Weight Watchers Centers in September.
