Jennifer Hudson Will Sing During Grammy Week
Jennifer Hudson, the 2007 Oscar winner and 2008 Grammy nominee, has been reported by People magazine to be making her first public appearance during Grammy week in early February.
Hudson's life was changed forever in October when her brother-in-law, William Balfour, allegedly broke into the house that Hudson grew up in, in Chicago's south side, and murdered her mother, Darnell, and brother, Jason. Three days after their bodies were found, a third body, that of Jennifer's 7-year-old nephew, Julian, was discovered in the back seat of Jason's abandoned vehicle.
Balfour was soon after arrested for violating parole, and then charged on December 2 for first-degree murder and home invasion.
It has been very hard coping with this tragedy for Jennifer, as she attributes much of her success to the support that she received from her mother as she pursued her singing career. Darnell was right by her side as Jennifer won an Oscar for her role in the film rendition of the Broadway musical, Dreamgirls.
Hudson's very meaningful performance is slated for February 6 at the L.A. Convention Center. She will also be performing with notable artists Coldplay, Josh Groban, Tim McGraw, and the Foo Fighters.
