Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother killed in shooting

The two were shot at their Chicago home Friday.

Dreamgirls star "American Idol" contestant Jennifer Hudson has lost both her mother and brother in a fatal shooting in Chicago reports People.com.

The singer's rep, Lisa Kasteler told the magazine, "We can confirm that there is an ongoing investigation concerning the deaths of Jennifer Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, and her brother, Jason Hudson."

Kasteler goes on to say that Hudson will be releasing no statement on the subject and that she has asked instead for her privacy.

"No further comment will be made and the family has asked that their privacy be respected at this difficult time."

The magazine reports that the officers found the victims Friday in their home, and that according to police there may have been a domestic disturbance before hand.

Most importantly is that 7-year-old Julian King, who is thought to be a grandson of Donerson, is missing.

John Mirabelli, a spokesman for the Chicago police said the search continues as, "We are searching for a young boy from that address who is missing."

The officer also mentioned that they are also looking for a man, identified as 28-year-old William Balfour, that they are "seeking to interview" in connection to the case.

A sad day indeed for Hudson, who's career has been going so well as of late, and it goes with out saying that all her fans will be keeping her in there thoughts and hoping that the case is closed soon.
