Jennifer Lopez Brings Movie Hit to TV

Jennifer Lopez is turning her 2002 hit romantic comedy, Maid in Manhattan, into a TV series, WENN reports.

The show - set to air on ABC - will also be produced by Lopez and she is to have a large say in the script. While the show will have the same basic plot of the hit movie - of a maid struggling to make it while working at a New York City hotel - new characters will be introduced and the show may go in a new direction. The main character herself, is also said to be very different than the one Lopez - who is not acting at all in the series - portrayed in the movie.

Chad Hodge, a writer involved with the show, explains: "The show is a different maid in a different Manhattan. She (Lopez) will be very integral in the pilot and series."

Meanwhile, Lopez is in the pre-production stages of two movies, set to be released in 2009: Love and Other Impossible Pursuits and The Governess.
