Jennifer Lopez's boyfriend Casper Smart takes to Twitter to defend their relationship

There is quite an age difference between Jennifer Lopez and her new boyfriend Casper Smart.

While Jennifer Lopez is a 42-year-old mother of twins and has been divorced twice – soon-to-be three times – Smart is a 24-year-old back up dancer.

Although the two have been showing off their flirty relationship all over the place, from Hawaii to Miami, they have relatively kept quiet about it.

That has now changed as Smart has tweeted some insight into the age gap.

“Age, status, n opinions of others are irrelevant. Our hearts are endless and our souls infinite. Our ages are mere reminders of the hours logged on this earth and the precious time remaining,” he tweeted, Celebuzz reports.

Lopez then retweeted her boyfriend’s thoughts. He added later, “We should all honor our time here by indulging our passion and dreams. So, close your ears and open your hearts; Love and be happy!”

The Huffington Post reports that Lopez recently reunited with her estranged husband of seven years, Marc Anthony, last week at the Television Critics association winter press tour.

They were there to promote their new show Q'Viva! The Chosen, where they put on a united front. Said Lopez, "Working together has been great," adding, “We have a ball.”
