Jennifer Love Hewitt Lends Support to Cheryl Burke
Dancing with the Stars competitor Cheryl Burke has an ally in the ever raging war over the issue of body image in Hollywood, reports People.
During her visit Wednesday to The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Hewitt described Dancing pros Louis Van Amstel and Maksim Chmerkovskiy's criticism of the dancer's body as being, "really insensitive."
Apparently, the two made pretty negative comments about Burke putting on a few pounds over the summer break from the show.
Hewitt said of the pair's comments, "I think [people] feel like people don't have any feelings."
The actress, who is known for her niceness, is apparently a big fan of the show and of Burke and raved about both the dancer's looks and abilities.
"Cheryl Burke is so beautiful and an amazing dancer and that's what people should concentrate on," said Hewitt.
And who better to defend the dancer, as the Ghost Whisperer star herself has recently had to fight off criticism of her own newly trimmer bod.
According to Hewitt, her new body is a product of having been in training for a marathon since last year and that she is very happy with the pictures, despite criticism.
"My body just changed," she told the audience. "When you're running that much and working out like that, that's what happens. I was happy with myself in those photos, and I'm still happy."
