Jenny Slate and Nasim Pedrad may be the next big thing on "SNL"

The comedy show, "Saturday Night Live," is bringing on two new female cast members for their 35th season.

Saturday Night Live welcomes two new female cast stars, Jenny Slate and Nasim Pedrad. Even though it looked like the show was going to be outweighed by the male cast with the absence of Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, and Maya Rudolph, it seems things are looking up. This year the comedy show will celebrate its 35th season with a premiere airing September 26. The show will have Megan Fox as the host and the band, U2, as the musical entertainment.

Bill Hader told MTV News, "Yeah, we have two new cast members. It's gonna be cool."

Pedrad, native to Iran, graduated from a Los Angeles improvisation group called The Groundlings. Back in 2007, she starred in her Las Vegas one-woman show interestingly enough named "Me, Myself, and Iran." Pedrad also played on the show, "ER," as nurse Suri. Slate made her way onto the comedy scene via the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York City. Her show at UCB was called "Dead Millionaire."
