Jeri Ryan Finds New ‘Evidence’ While Robert Patrick Meets ‘Edgar’

Notable celebrities such as “Star Trek: Voyager’s” Jeri Ryan and “The Unit’s” Robert Patrick have both signed on to star in several upcoming mainstream network pilots.

Star Trek: Voyager alum Jeri Ryan has been cast in ABC’s new drama entitled Body of Evidence while Robert Patrick, an alum of the CBS military drama The Unit, is set to star in another network drama entitled Edgar Floats.

According to an article on HollywoodReporter.com, “Body is a procedural that centers on a brilliant, tenacious medical examiner -- a part Dana Delany is in talks for -- whose background as a neurosurgeon gives her a unique and refreshing crime-solving perspective but puts her at odds with nearly everyone.’”

Ryan will play the role of the city’s chief medical examiner. Her previous credits include starring as a series regular on the NBC science fiction show Dark Skies, as an the ex-Borg drone Seven of Nine on the UPN science fiction series Star Trek: Voyager, in the 2003 romantic comedy Down with Love opposite Renée Zellweger, Ewan McGregor, David Hyde Pierce and Tony Randall, as a series regular on the David E. Kelley-created Fox drama Boston Public, on the CBS legal drama Shark and she now stars as Tara Cole opposite Timothy Hutton in the TNT drama series Leverage.

Meanwhile, Robert Patrick, who is best known for playing T-1000 in the 1991 action hit Terminator 2: Judgment Day, has signed on to star in the ABC drama entitled Edgar Floats.

The HollywoodReporter.com article goes on to say that, “Edgar centers on a police psychologist-turned-bounty hunter who often works for a bail bondsman (Patrick) whose daughter (Alicia Witt) is Edgar's ex-wife.”

Patrick’s past credits include starring as John Doggett on the hit Fox science fiction television series The X-Files, in the 2003 action film Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle opposite Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu, Cameron Diaz and Demi Moore, in the 2005 autobiographical tale about legendary country singer Johnny Cash entitled Walk the Line opposite Reese Witherspoon and in the 2006 war drama Flags of our Fathers.
