Jerry Seinfeld to Appear on "The Jay Leno Show"
Famous comedian, Jerry Seinfeld has agreed to be the first guest for on Jay Leno's new late night program, "The Jay Leno Show." NBC announced Friday that the star and co-creator of the TV show "Seinfeld" will accompany R&B singers Kanye West, Rihanna and Jay-Z as they kick off Leno's new show.
Leno has previously stated that his program will not be based on guest interviews and musical performances. Instead, the show will feature more comedy and Leno had previously said that he wants more performance-like aspects from his guests. He will also have a team of correspondents which will include comics D.L. Hughley and Mikey Day. "NBC Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams will also appear from time to time.
Leno ended his 17 year old run as host of "The Tonight Show" in May. "The Jay Leno Show" is an experiment for NBC to replace expensive, scripted dramas at 10 p.m. with a cost-friendly comedy talk show.
Seinfeld's next project includes a "Seinfeld" cast reunion on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and a new reality show, "The Marriage Ref."
"The Jay Leno Show" premieres on September 14th at 10 p.m. on NBC.
